GRADE 9

Students entering grades 9 should choose (a) book(s) of interest to read over the summer and complete a graphic organizer to turn into your English teacher upon return to school.

To demonstrate your understanding of the text you read, you will complete a one-page graphic organizer to share key ideas and information that you have learned while reading. Choose the graphic organizer that fits the book you have read. There are two choices:

If your book is Fiction: Use the Story Map/ SUMMERFICTIONStoryMap2organizer.pdf

If your book is Non-Fiction: Use a Concept/Event Map/ SUMMERNONFICTIONconcept-event-map-graphic-organizer.pdf

Complete all parts of your graphic organizer. Turn in your graphic organizer (s) to your ELA teacher during the week of 9/3-9/6. Your teacher will give you a raffle ticket for each organizer you submit (limit is 5). Each ticket earned entitles the ticket holder to a chance for a prize. Drawing for prizes will occur 9/13. Winners will be announced and will come to the main office to collect their prize(s).
