9775 WOOD TECHNOLOGY I 1.0 Credit Grades 10-12
(*NOTE : any student added after the first mid-marking period, must pass all safety tests at 70% or higher *)
Basic Furniture Building is organized to expose students to a wide range of wood technologies. Course content presents the basic and joinery skills needed to build basic furniture. Proper use of hand and power tools, woodworking machinery, and safety procedures will be covered. Measuring and wood joinery will also be covered. All students must be proficient (70% or higher) in measuring and safety in order to receive credit for this class. Students will be responsible for the cost of their projects.

9777 WOOD TECHNOLOGY II 1.0 Credit Grades 10-12
(prerequisite: 80% in Wood Technology I or teacher recommendation)
This course introduces basic cabinetmaking skills. Topics covered include: material selection, layout, case construction, drawer and door construction, and finishing techniques. This course includes the design and construction of various projects. Students will be responsible for the cost of their projects.

9779 WOOD TECHNOLOGY III 1.0 Credit Grades 11-12
(prerequisite: 80% in Wood Technology II or teacher recommendation; any student added after the first mid-marking period, must pass all safety tests at 70% or higher) Basic Furniture Building is organized to expose students to a wide range of wood technologies. 8783 COMPUTER-AIDED DRAFTING I 1.0 Credit Grades 10-12
This course provides students with the concepts and skills necessary for the creation of technical designs and drawings. Drafting skills are developed through the use of both freehand and computer-assisted drawings. The course covers applied drafting concepts appropriate for designs in manufacturing, architectural, mechanical, and civil engineering.
(Note: This course may also be used to satisfy the Computer Technology Elective requirement)

8785 COMPUTER-AIDED DRAFTING II 1.0 Credit Grades 10-12
(prerequisite: Computer-Aided Drafting I)
This is a course in computer-aided design and drafting using two-dimensional orthographic projection drawing techniques. Emphasis will be placed on personal computer based CAD systems through a series of increasingly difficult drafting assignments culminating in a presentation quality final project and portfolio of completed drawings.

8787 COMPUTER-AIDED DRAFTING III 1.0 Credit Grades 10-12
(prerequisite: Computer-Aided Drafting II)
This course provides instruction in advanced computer-aided drafting techniques in addition to creation of three-dimensional drawings. Students progress from two-dimensional projection to wire frame, surface modeling, solids modeling, and rendering. Emphasis will be placed on personal computer based CAD systems through a series of increasingly difficult drafting assignments culminating in a presentation quality final project and portfolio of completed drawings.
